ARCHWAYS LAUNCH THE MENTORING FOR ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAMME (MAP)

Dr. Brenna Bry speaking at the launch of the Mentoring for Achievement Programme on Tuesday 5th October

The first programme of its kind in Ireland, MAP (a school-based, early intervention programme with a theoretical base in both behavioural and cognitive psychology), was officially launched on Tuesday 5th October by Mary Doyle, Director General, OMCYA. The Mentoring for Achievement Programme, MAP, was designed by Dr. Brenna Bry and has seen positive results in the USA, identifying students who are at risk of academic failure or early school leaving and supporting them through the difficult transition from primary to second level school.

The Mentoring for Achievement Programme was officially launched on Tuesday October 5 in the Red Cow Moran Hotel. Over one hundred people from across the youth work and education sectors attended the launch. MAP will be rolled out by Archways, in conjunction with County Dublin VEC and local youth services in Tallaght and Clondalkin later in the academic year.
