Launch of 'Positive Classrooms, Positive Children' March 2011

On Tuesday March 1st 2011 Archways launched the summary report from the second phase of the Incredible Years Ireland Study. The report, Positive Classrooms, Positive Children, details the findings from the research into the Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management programme. The report was officially launched by Prof. Tom Collins. President NUI Maynooth. Also speaking at the launch were: Noreen Flynn, Vice-President INTO; Jane Forman, Atlantic Philanthropies; Dr. Sinead McGilloway, Principal Investigator, IY Ireland Study; Gerry Murphy, Deputy President, IPPN; and Peadar McKenna, Development Manager, Archways. The launch took place in the Clock Tower, Dept. of Education & Skills, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1.

Archways is a national organisation working in collaboration with local and national agencies to promote and research evidence based programmes for children & young people. Archways provides a bridge between evidence based programmes and communities and supports the development of sustainable linked practices that build on existing strengths and resources. Archways was established in 2006. Initially the role of Archways was to promote the roll-out and evaluation of the Incredible Years programme in Ireland. Over the last number of years Archways have begun delivering and supporting other evidence based interventions including the Mentoring for Achievement Programme and Families First.
